perfect breakfast #2

Since I quit eating yoghurt I found the alternative for my breakfast. I haven't manage to make soy yoghurt yet so I make my breakfast with fruits. I don't get any probiotics this way but I can get them other ways.

My perfect breakfast is now a bit different (and seasonally modified so I don't get tired of the same recipe). Mixed fruits with some grain milk or coconut milk is the base - apple with exotic fruit (banana, avocado or mango) in winter, seasonal fruits for the rest of the year (like strawberries and apples in spring or currently strawberries, cherries and blueberries). Other ingredients I add into this mixture: coconut flour, mixed grain flakes, coconut flakes, linseed and sesame seed, apricot kernels, hemp seed, cacao nibs (yummy!), some almonds or macadamia and wheatgerm oil or coconut oil. Sometimes I replace flakes with cooked spelt or millet (it comes as a by-product when making milk).

you can mix the ingredients with blender (like I do for my little one) or just chop them roughly

be sure to grind the seeds (and nuts) with stone grinder and don't leave them ground for more than 10 min before you eat (they quickly oxidise and after that the effect of their powerful vitamins and minerals diminish)

After breakfast it's time for herbal tea (recently I've been drinking detox tea and rise&shine) or grain coffee (usually spelt).

It's a good start for a good day ...

I linked the ingredients to some online shops, products and resources for readers in Slovenia. Almost all ingredients can be bought at local food market - find organic farmers' stands, you'll be surprised, what they have to offer! Exotic food which is not available on local markets or farms should be consumed only occasionally or in small amounts.

I usually buy from the following farms: Rengeo (Salovci), Pr'Rejcu (Krnice, Gorenja vas) with Demeter certifikate! and Slibar (Kovor, Trzic).
